Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Where Is My (Pvt) Ltd (“we”, “us”), a private limited company in Sri Lanka, which operates Where Is My Uni (“WIMU”, the “Service”) on its website, its web app and in AI assistants. By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Our privacy policy (https://whereismyuni.com/privacy) explains how we handle your personal data.

You must be 18 or over to create a WIMU account or use its personal features, on the web or in an AI assistant. By creating an account, you confirm that you are. The Service is not directed at children.

Where Is My Uni helps you discover universities and degree programmes in Germany, with optional tools for course recommendations, CV review, transcript review, motivation letters and application tracking. The information we show is general guidance. It may be incomplete or out of date, and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by the universities shown. Always check details with the university before you rely on them.

WIMU is not admission, visa, immigration, financial or legal advice, and it does not guarantee admission to any programme or any other outcome. WIMU never submits an application for you. Recommendations, CV and letter suggestions, grade conversions and credit mappings, whether from WIMU or from an AI assistant, can be wrong, so use your own judgement and check with the university or the relevant authority.

You sign in through a third-party provider (Google) via our sign-in provider. Keep access to your account secure; you are responsible for what happens under it. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• Scrape, harvest or bulk-extract data from the Service, including through its AI-assistant tools.
• Reverse engineer, copy or create derivative works from the Service.
• Disrupt, overload or try to gain unauthorised access to the Service, or get around its usage limits.
• Open more than one account to claim starting credits again.
• Upload unlawful content, or use the Service to break any law or infringe anyone’s rights.

You keep ownership of the content you provide, such as your profile, CVs, letters and uploaded transcripts. You give us the licence we need to host and process it to run the features you use, including sending the relevant content to our service providers as the privacy policy describes. You are responsible for having the right to provide that content and for its accuracy.

You can use the Service in AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT and Codex by connecting our app there. These terms apply to that use too, and:

• The assistant is provided by a third party (Anthropic for Claude, OpenAI for ChatGPT and Codex) under its own terms and privacy policy. We don’t control it and aren’t responsible for what it says or does, including how it presents results from WIMU.
• Public tools, such as searching courses, need no account. Personal tools act on your WIMU account as if you had used the web app: they can read and change your tracker, profile, onboarding answers, CVs and letters. Check what the assistant proposes before you approve it.
• WIMU tools in AI assistants don’t use or spend WIMU credits, don’t charge you, and sell nothing.
• Usage limits apply, and we may refuse or slow down requests to keep the Service available and prevent abuse.
• You can disconnect WIMU in the assistant’s settings at any time, and block an assistant on the Connected apps page in your WIMU profile.

The Service, including its software, design and branding, is owned by Where Is My (Pvt) Ltd and its licensors. University and course information may be owned by third parties and is provided for reference only.

The Service shows university data, map imagery and links to other sites for your convenience. We do not control or endorse third-party content and are not responsible for it.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. AI-generated suggestions may be inaccurate.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on the Service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you, including liability for fraud, for death or personal injury, or under mandatory consumer-protection rules.

We may change the Service or these terms. The date at the top shows the last change. When changes are material we will, where appropriate, tell you in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the competent courts of Colombo, Sri Lanka have jurisdiction. If you use the Service as a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in its courts where those laws allow.
